Europe’s most prestigious freeski and snowboard contest combined
with the SICTIC Investor Day – This only happens in Laax!
Technopark Graubünden and Technopark Liechtenstein are the enablers of this event, where experiences of the Weisse Arena Gruppe are brought together with investors and startups. This event format allows to hold a pitching event in a breathtaking mountain setting, combining the meeting of investors and startups with winter sports activities and the big freeski and snowboard World Cup.
Pitching Event
The pitching event will be held in cooperation with SICTIC as Investor Day at Hotel Peaks Place in Laax. It’s a matchmaking event where eight potential high-growth tech startups, based in Switzerland, pitch for funding in front of investors and supporters, where they present their business idea. The event takes place in a hybrid setting, as there is the option to participate on-site or online. SICTIC will broadcast the event with live stream. Investors who are interested in a business idea will deal with the business model and a possible investment in a startup in more detail afterwards.
After this two-hour pitching session, participants can look forward to:
- Lunch with a typical Grisons speciality
- Time at leisure for skiing or snowboarding
- Slopestyle and halfpipe finals of the FIS World Cup
- Reunion and light dinner at Hotel Peaks Place
Pitching startups
The startups that will pitch at the SICTIC Investor Day are now defined.
FroXx Industries is a startup which is attached to Technopark Liechtenstein. They help people to unite with their machines, technologies to become more productive, faster, cost-saving, and relevant.
Marcacells is a startup from the canton of Grisons and produces optical sensors for bioprocess monitoring and automation.
Optiml is a software for real estate owners and consultants to determine the best cost and CO2 strategies for their buildings.
WattAnyWhere provides a generator that converts renewable ethanol into clean electricity, anytime, anywhere.
Aisot powers the next generation of asset management by providing insights for portfolios adapting to customer needs and market events in real-time.
Health Yourself is a digital health startup making routine healthcare services available digitally and from home.
Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC)
The Swiss ICT Investor Club (SICTIC) brings smart money investors together with potential high-growth startups. SICTIC is a non-profit association with a strong angel investor community. It consists of more than 420 business angels and private investors interested in investing in early stage technology startups.
SICTIC organizes the dealflow and matchmaking of startups and investors both online and at pitching events. In the past four years, more than 5000 event participants have been provided with knowledge about startup investments.
Laax Open – FIS World Cup
Laax Open is an international freeski and snowboard World Cup, where the best athletes in the world compete in the disciplines halfpipe and slopestyle.
At Crap Sogn Gion at 2,252 meters above sea, 300 riders from all over the world will compete at the FIS World Cup in front of the impressive 360° mountain panorama.
With slopestyle and halfpipe competitions, Laax Open has a long tradition of hosting freestyle events for 30 years. Laax boasts a treasure trove of background, expertise and passion for the sport and its riders.
